I write words.

I’m a journalist, copywriter, and all-around wordsmith empowering early-career classical musicians to tell their stories. Here are some things I write:

Artist biographies

Program notes

Web & social media copy

Press releases

Newsletters

Criticism & essays

As a copywriter, I have composed digital marketing and publicity materials for arts-industry clients including New World Symphony, Guitars Over Guns, The Happenstancers, Musique 3 Femmes, and others. As part of theAOinsight team, I was the lead social media copywriter on New World Symphony’s 2019 Viola Visions campaign. (Did I use the hashtag #violatastic? You better believe it.)

As a journalist and program annotator, I love to use historical research to tell compelling, socially informed stories about music. I enjoy shining light on the lives and works of women composers, and writing about the arts as they intersect with social justice, feminism, and marginalized narratives. How can we build artistic spaces that are inclusive, inquisitive, and socially engaged?

When I’m not writing about music, I’m writing about my experiences overcoming adversity (which definitely has nothing to do with the 1998 animated motion picture Mulan).
