Hi. I’m Carly.

It’s nice to meet you! 👋🏻 I’m an arts-administrating, oboe-playing writer and advocate whose practice thrives at the intersection of research, storytelling, new media, and creative performance.
By day, I implement strategic administrative practices to support Guitars Over Guns‘ award-winning music education programming across 36 school and community sites in Miami and Chicago. By night, I can be found marveling at the creative output of TikTok teens, perfecting my vegan hamantaschen recipe, and contemplating how to gamify a queer, feminist chamber recital inspired by the love letters of Johannes Brahms and Clara Schumann.
You know, just a day in the life. Actual footage shown.
It all started when I turned the required program notes for my undergrad recital into a coloring book, complete with puzzles and games for intermission. I became fascinated with the many ways that the stories we tell through music on stage – and the audience’s dynamic experience as we tell those stories – can be enlivened and transformed through extra-musical media.
Since then, I’ve dedicated my journey — both on stage and behind the scenes — to communicating powerful stories through interactive media, music, and words. As a performer, I curate “theatre-recitals” that weave primary texts, contemporary chamber works, and social justice themes into an immersive narrative. As an administrator, I guide artists and ensembles to tell their stories in a compelling way, expressing who they are, what they do, and why they do it.
So. Are you ready to tell YOUR story?
